Inspiration
April 5, 2010
I feel so uninspired. I mean, I had pretty much 5 days of free time to spend with my kids as I pleased….and what did I do??? Nothing. Except for the Easter egg hunt on Sunday, and the Saturday spent shopping and preparing, there was nothing fun, exciting or fulfilling about this past weekend.
This is not the kind of mom I wanted myself to be. I had big dreams for myself in this career of motherhood. And I have royally disappointed myself this weekend. Flop.
There….I’ve beaten myself up. I’ve pit myself to the ground and I deserved it.
Now, it’s time to be the supermom again. L & M, you inspire me!

Water World
September 28, 2009
* So before it’s exactly a year since my last post, I better post something new NOW!
September 26 2009 was the worst day for Filipinos. Tropical storm Ketsana (or Ondoy, as it was called locally) hit Manila with non-stop rainfall for 6 hours that ultimately surpassed what Katrina did to New Orleans. It got me glued to Youtube, TFC (The Filipino Channel) and Facebook for any news updates. All the sad, terrible, gory images of this weekend left me with a flood of emotions, no pun intended….helplessness for not being there to help, guilt for living so comfortably knowing that some friends and family I know are in a terrible situation, worried about what can happen next, a bit panicked thinking of the time it will take for Filipinos to rise out of this again.
Lord, help my people.

Because I’m out of the house and away from the kids for almost 12hrs in a day, I’ve made it a habit of sparking conversations with them to kinda fill in the missed hours. A couple of nights ago, while going through our evening routine, Lauren said “mommy, what is your last name?” ”Bulchand, just like yours”, I said. And at this, she said back with a kind of sad, dreamy and wishful thinking… “I wish my last name was Sparkles.”
Oh how my heart just melted for her a thousand times.
Meet Lauren Sparkles.

The Last Lecture
August 5, 2008
For those who knew Randy Pausch, he was an inspiration.
While hopefully searching Youtube for no-brainer videos last night, I stumbled upon the Last Lecture given by Dr. Pausch at the Carnegie Mellon University. Watching it made a deep impact on me…life changing, to say the least. None of what he said was highly scientific or technical, nor was it overly dramatic; his words weren’t laced either with verses from the Bible. But all of them made sense.
If I were to give THE last lecture of my life, what would it be about??? Tough question.

New blogs
May 13, 2008
So the blogging fever has caught up with me! I have recently started 2 blogs: one for my husband, and another one a photoblog.
The idea of a blog for my husband has been steaming for quite a while now. Friends and families have constantly been asking him for recipes, party ideas and cooking tips. And since he can’t really spew out recipes with a Bam! like Emeril, a blog would be a perfect idea. The trick is to constantly check it because this will become a work in progress for us. Recipe ideas will mostly come from personal experiences, meaning stuff that we genuinely love to cook, or stuff that we know are really kid-friendly, or maybe even a spin-off of a dish that we ordered at a restaurant last weekend.
Meanwhile, the photoblog just seemed like a really neat idea to showcase our experiments. We both love taking pictures, mostly of Lauren & Matthew, but recently also of places and nature. The Monotone theme is an awfully cool theme, so it makes me wanna post more pictures just so I could see what color the page will actually come out. :)
